  • Do not export all types of sand to foreign countries

     

    The General Department of Customs has just issued Official Letter No. 2367 / TCHQ-GSQL to send to the Customs of provinces and cities to guide the procedures for exporting sand.
     


     

    Specifically, for white silicon sand and gold sand for making molds, it is only allowed to export if it meets the conditions: having an export contract signed with a foreign partner before September 15, 2017 and approved by the Ministry of Construction. elaborate the confirmation in accordance with the instructions in Official Letter No. 1598 of July 3, 2018. The two types of sand mentioned above must meet conditions on technical standards and export dossiers according to the Ministry of Construction's Circular 05/2019 to amend and supplement Circular 05/2018.

    For other types of sand, according to the General Department of Customs, local Customs continued to comply with Official Letter 9826 of the Government Office on September 15, 2017. Accordingly, "Vietnam continues to implement the policy of not exporting all kinds of sand to foreign countries."

    Previously, on March 23, 2020, the Ministry of Construction issued Official Letter 1296 to Customs Supervision and Control Department for guidance on sand export. Official Letter stated: Following the Prime Minister's direction in Document No. 602 dated 10/5/2018 on some solutions to enhance the state management of sand resources, Ministry of Construction dated 3 / In July 2018, the official document No. 1598 guiding the export of white silicon sand and gold sand for making molds. Enterprises continue to export pre-processed silicon white silicon and yellow sand products but signed export contracts with foreign partners before September 15, 2017, in accordance with the provisions of laws on exporting minerals.
